SPECTA introduces a new alternative for the Scandinavian packaging strap market

The biggest PET and steel packing strap producer in Eastern and Northern Europe says Scandinavia shows strong potential

SPECTA, the biggest PET and steel strap producer in Eastern and Northern Europe, expands its activities in the Scandinavian market by strengthening its presence and sales support for its distribution partners and large-scale enterprises.

The 100 percent Finnish-owned Specta recently solidified its role in the European strap market by acquiring Russia’s biggest PET strap producer. The new increased capacity of PET strap is now 10 000 MT and 40 000 MT of steel strap. Specta also established a subsidiary and hired a team in Finland, and set up a warehouse in one of Finland’s main logistics hubs in Kouvola.

On October 16-17, Specta will showcase its strapping products at the PACK & EMBALLAGE exhibition in Stockholm.

– We see Scandinavia as a very potential market. Industrial companies here are very strict about high quality, and very active in seeking cost efficiency. All the discussions with potential customers have proven that the market has been looking forward to a new high quality strap provider, which brings competition, says Erik Helin, CEO of SPECTA.

Specta has provided packaging strap and solutions for 20 years for over 2 000 leading industrial companies in Europe and Asia. Specta’s clients include Arcelor Mittal, Outokumpu, Severstal, Stora Enso, Swedwood, UPM and Mondi.

In Scandinavia SPECTAwill continue serving customers through distributors, and it will also focus more on the large-scale companies that prefer buying directly from the producer.

– We have state of the art production facilities, extensive testing procedures, strict quality control and well functioning logistics across the Northern Europe. We are independent of strapping machine suppliers, and hence we can provide our customers the optimal products. Our aim is to be the most preferred option for the leading Scandinavian companies by providing high-class strap at competitive prices, Helin says.
