V International Congress of Regional Waste Management Operators has concluded in Samara. The event is conducted annually by the Chistaya Strana (“Clean Country”) Association.
The Association, which includes regional solid municipal and other waste management operators, leading manufacturers of municipal equipment, and waste management specialists was established in 2016. It is currently the industry’s largest professional organization.
More than 350 people from 70 regions of the country participated in the Congress this year. The most pressing issues surrounding MSW management legislation, reformation and digitalisation of the industry, environmental issues and educational issues were discussed at thematic sessions and round tables. The Strategic Session was one of the main events of Congress’s business programme, dedicated to the implementation of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) mechanism. Denis Zavyalov, DCEO, Strategy Director, and Maksim Diyanov, Purchasing and Technical Director of PET Straps, represented Specta at the congress.
